Perched
on a hilltop overlooking the valley below, Villa La Castellaccia
is nestled in the surroundings reminiscent of an era of the Italian
Countryside near the birthplace of Michelangelo. The driveway leads
you over a bridge towards the hand forged iron gates into the motor
court. Blossoming vines climb the walls of the courtyard to the
stone and iron balconies above. There is a fountain trickling off
to the side of the two heavy wood carriage doors.
Entering the Villa through a pair of rich mahogany doors embellished with leaded
and beveled glass, you step over the stone threshold into an entry
becoming of Royalty. The light carmel stone floor is ornamented with a massive
hand cut stone mosaic. The Library, located directly off the entry, is
crafted from mahogany, enhanced by an elegant limestone fireplace inviting you
to relax and enjoy your reading. Looking over the hickory planked
floor, beyond the glass doors, you notice a stone paved secret garden. This same
garden reveals an antiqued fountain from the adjacent doors in the
formal Dining room. Just beyond, the formal Living room opens up to the Foyer
and Grand Stair. The stair railing cascades down intertwining itself
like a grape vine flourishing in the vineyard. Beneath the stairs is a room lined
with wooden racks housing your fine collection of treasured wines from around
the world.
At the end of the Foyer, you walk through a large arched opening bringing you
to the heart of the Villa. The place where your family gathers together
to share the special adventures the day has brought them, the Family room. A
hand carved limestone fireplace is centered in the room between two
built-in entertainment centers. On the opposing wall, an arched colonnade leads
you to your gourmet kitchen, equipped with the finest commercial
grade Viking appliances. A 48" free standing range with two lower ovens,
48" Subzero refrigerator and freezer, microwave, warming drawer, single
oven, ice maker and two Bosch dishwashers to assist in making cleaning up the
easy part of the experience. The kitchen also is equipped for all of
your storage needs with two Butlers Pantries.
The Villa is comprised of five bedrooms and five and a half baths. The Master
retreat, located upstairs, contains a sitting area and built-in
entertainment cabinets. The Master Bathroom embraces a therapeutic air massage
bathtub; walk-in shower with dual showerheads, a separate
water closet and a vast master closet with built-in cedar-lined organizers. The
Bonus room is decorated with built-in desks and computer stations as
well as an entertainment area. Just off of the Bonus room are two bedrooms, each
with private baths and walk-in closets.
In the rear yard, a private citrus orchard opens up to an outdoor dining area
and built-in BBQ. A saline pool centered in the middle of the yard is
enhanced with an overflowing fountain perched at the end of the pool. Surrounding
the pool is a deck paved in flagstone with a wide grass joint.
You and your guests will take pleasure in spending time in the outdoor, covered
conversation area absorbing the views of the valley listening to your
fireplace crackle.
